Scott Matsinger is an experienced accounting professional with over ten years of practice across public, governmental and corporate accounting industries. Scott graduated from Tulane University with a Bachelor of Science in Management & Accounting and received his Master of Accountancy from the A.B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University. Most recently, Scott was a Financial Coordinator and accounting supervisor with BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee primarily responsible for financial reporting related to the Affordable Care Act (Obama Care). Prior to that, Scott was a Senior Accountant at the City of Chattanooga, responsible for the Volkswagen development project and coordination of federal, state and local financial reporting requirements. Scott gained his public accounting experience when he worked at Hazlett, Lewis & Beiter, PLLC (currently Mauldin & Jenkins) involved in both audit and tax services. As part of his community service, Scott served on the Executive Board of Directors of the Chattanooga Association of Governmental Accountants as Treasurer (‘10-‘11) and received the Distinguished Service award (‘10-’11).
In additional to his accounting experience, in 2013 he and his wife ventured into entrepreneurship by purchasing a franchise concept new to the Chattanooga market which continues to grow and thrive today. Scott is a veteran of the U.S. Navy, proudly serving from ‘93-’98 as a platoon leader in the Seabees, deploying four times for various humanitarian efforts. Scott and his wife Jana currently reside in Chattanooga and enjoy spending their free time on the lake or watching their favorite sports teams.
